Before working with Debbie, I truly felt lost. I had goals, but with no idea how to hit them, or where to start. I had the confidence and discipline to do the work and followed the philosophy of "fake it 'til you make it," but she opened my eyes to see the better way to authentically help people. Before starting coaching I wasn't so much a concern about starting... it was more a misunderstanding of why I needed a coach and what I was supposed to get out of it. No one told me what to expect, so I couldn't foresee it being useful, or what it was even about.
I don't even know where to begin in describing what has happened since working with Debbie. When I started coaching with Debbie, I was the ultimate driver, I'll (ethically) say whatever I need to say to get the job done as quickly as possible. I still have that in me and I love and hate that about myself, but she's taught me awareness... of myself and false assumptions, of others and their feelings, of the impact that my reactions can have on situations, all kinds of things. Now, I'm definitely still a work in progress, however, I feel like I've grown leaps and bounds as a professional, and a young woman, because of the encouragement and coaching that she's poured into me. I don't feel like I have to be a machine that needs to achieve as much as possible anymore. From my time with Debbie, I have learned to live more in the moment and have more gratitude in my life than ever before. I can't wait to see how those changes keep having a ripple affect in all facets of my life!
I recommend people to work with Debbie several times a week - I just feel so lucky to have her! I share how she's changed me for the better. She pushes me to see things from other's perspectives and she isn't afraid to ask me hard questions about why I think the way I do, and those conversations are so fulfilling to me. I know she believes in me and wants to see me succeed (and happy) more than anything else.
